Bradley Cooper is encouraging residents of his home state to get up and get out the vote.
Per People, the A Star Is Born actor and director made a rare public appearance in a new video featured on Now This News urging registered voters in Pennsylvania—one of a handful of major swing states in this year's presidential election—to hit the polls come November. The actor-director also shared insight into the "do's and don'ts of voting" this year.
"Hi, I'm Bradley Cooper, and I just want to talk to you about voting in Pennsylvania," Cooper begins in the video, going on to explain that voting in the state is "easy" but voters need to be properly prepared and registered to vote before the October 19 deadline.
"It takes less than five minutes," Cooper says, regarding the registration process.
The actor continues, highlighting the importance of correctly submitting one's ballot—especially if opting to vote by mail rather than in person.
"Pennsylvania will only count ballots that are stuffed into two envelopes," warns Cooper. "If you skip the first step and just use the return envelope, your ballot will be considered a naked ballot. … One of the most common mistakes people make is not signing their mail-in ballot," affirms the actor.
"Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you have the right to vote. So do it," he concludes.
