The Truth About The Assassination Plot Against 50 Cent

November 2024 · 1 minute read

Proving that truth in advertising isn't all it's cracked up to be, Kenneth McGriff enlisted help from employees of the rap label Murder Inc. to murder 50 Cent, per the Guardian. Why? In the 2000 song "Ghetto Koran (Forgive Me)" 50 recalls selling crack as a kid but also describes the crimes of McGriff, who ran a gang called the Supreme Team. 50 refers to McGriff as "Preme" (short for "Supreme") and describes him as the respected "businessman" while characterizing Preme's partner, Prince, as a "killer." He also references killings.

Federal agents allege that McGriff was supremely pissed and orchestrated the 2000 shooting of 50 Cent — yes that one where he got shot nine times. He obviously survived, and supposedly so did McGriff's desire to kill him. Though, he never got the job done, Biography writes that he was convicted of using a hitman to murder two rival gangsters. He was additionally found guilty of racketeering, drug trafficking, and not being nearly as Supreme as he thought he was. He received a life sentence.
